Jewel Geek Education

Preserving English Jewellery History And Nurturing Young Talent

The ‘Jewel Geek Education’ project is a pioneering initiative introduced by jewellery historian and antique jewellery dealer, Mr Brinder Singh Dhatt. Its aim is to promote awareness and appreciation of jewellery history and antique jewellery among younger generations across towns and cities throughout England.

Driven by a mission to preserve English jewellery history and its living heritage, Mr Dhatt seeks to inspire more young people to take an active interest in jewellery history and antiques in general. In addition, he aims to encourage students to consider careers within the jewellery industry.

The future of the antiques and jewellery sector lies with young people and emerging talent. The earlier such individuals are identified and their abilities encouraged and nurtured, the better.

Over the coming months and years, Mr Dhatt will visit schools and educational institutions across England to deliver enriching programmes. Students will have the opportunity to handle antique jewellery, ask questions, and learn about English jewellery. These programmes will predominantly highlight British artisans and designers, as well as English jewellery from different time periods.

Mr Dhatt will also be able to advise schools and institutions on suitable literature to add to their libraries, as well as how they might adapt their arts curriculum to include jewellery history.
